i love this cover, and that's about it...but seriously, the color usage is great. lighting too. it's bright. no one looks weird, except for that group of white guys in the back...but i don't even care that they're back there.

Check out the setlist at the end of the vid~
"J-Boy"--according to Pitchfork, Phoenix reps have said that the song that everyone has guessed to be "J-Boy" in the Calvin Klein commercial is not in fact "J-Boy." But perhaps it's just not the song title of the Calvin Klein commercial, and "J-Boy" does exist? Like, maybe the CK song is just a draft & if you know about Bankrupt! Diaries, their drafts usually have similar, yet different names from their album feature counterparts.
"Ti Amo Piu"
& a mystery song...
p.s. I'm glad Branco decided to cut his hair
p.p.s. AHHHH. Excitedddddd!!!!

Sooo good! I have been listening to it non-stop~ Best music I've heard in a while. No critical thoughts about the song--rare, right?
In case you wanna sing along as much as I do, here's a lyric video:

Pledis Entertainment's new girl group Pristin (Twitter/YT) debuted on Mnet's M2 fancam channel, performing "We" and "WEE WOO".
Some of their choreo is awkward, and I'm not exactly a fan of their songs, although they are catchy. "We" is typical kpop girl group "purity" fare, while "WEE WOO" is the kind of energetic-cutsey pop that is more grating on my ears, rather than melodic. With that being said, I still think Pristin has the potential to be one of the best kpop groups.
I think even with their cutsey act, they also demonstrate a strong feminity that, unfortunately, my current favorite kpop group TWICE lacks (Have you ever watched their SIXTEEN performances? I love their cute concepts, and would love to see more, but I want to see them truly demonstrate their talents with stronger (as in vibes, not skills) works.) Also, even though I'm not a fan of the energetic-cutsey pop, I think it also demonstrates the greatness of Pledis for allowing for them to self-produce. If you watch their talk during the showcase & any other videos of them from before, you can tell that all the girls are quite energetic. It means that their true colors are showing in their music, which is rare in kpop.
All in all, while I may not like their debut music as much as I'd like to, I like the girls, their camaraderie, and the freedom they have in production. I also believe in their skills and in a great future for the group.
Congrats on debuting~
1. Be the Star
2. WEE WOO
3. Black Widow?
4. Running--my favorite song off of the album
5. Over N Over--this is nice
